looking for PERSONAL color analysis in DENVER METRO? I’M YOUR GIRL!

Welcome!   Hello, I am Renee.  I am a True Colour International Certified Personal Color Analyst and owner of Color Savvy Studio just south of Denver in Littleton, Colorado.  As long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with color, art, and design.  My favorite toy as a young girl was a box of 64 Crayola Crayons. I studied engineering for two years in college before switching majors and graduating with a BA in Interior Design from Michigan State University. I worked as a commercial interior designer at various architecture firms prior to staying at home with my kids for several years.

When I stumbled upon personal color analysis years ago, I was very intrigued. I had a color draping in a four season system, the only PCA system available anywhere within several hours’ drive of my home.  I was fascinated by the process and could see with my own eyes how much color had an effect on my appearance!  I loved getting my colors done! I left my analysis excited to explore my new colors and with an inkling that I may have found my next opportunity to work with color. In trying to live in the result of my four season colors, though, given my extensive background in color, I soon began feeling that the four season analysis hadn’t gotten it right for me.  Some of my colors seemed to work, while others just didn’t seem to harmonize with my coloring at all. The artist in me felt it just scratched the surface, and the scientist in me knew I needed something more scientific and specific.

When I discovered True Colour International’s 12 tone method of personal color analysis, I knew I had found the answer to my own PCA questions and roadblocks, as well my next career endeavor!  The TCI Method is based on the science of natural color harmony, accurate interpretation of the Munsell color system, full- spectrum light theory, human physiology and psychology.  Finally! Working as a color analyst combines all my favorite things -  science, art and empowering people all rolled in one fabulous, fun and enlightening experience!

Humans are uniquely made.  Using TCI’s scientifically proven method, I utilize my interest in science, my keen eye for color and my extensive TCI training to help people find the best, most harmonious versions of colors to bring out their true beauty as nature intended.  I absolutely love sharing my knowledge to empower people to live more colorfully and authentically!

Outside of Color Savvy Studio, I am a wife and a mom of three.  Our family loves to travel and enjoys outdoor adventures.   When I lived out of state, I coached youth cheer and volunteered at Humble Design, a charity that furnishes homes for people emerging from homelessness.  As a new Colorado resident, I am on the hunt to find some similar volunteer opportunities in the Denver area.

The TCI 12 TONE Method of PERSONAL Color Analysis

As a professional personal color analyst certified by True Colour International, I use the state of the art, advanced, 12-Tone TCI Method of personal color analysis. Human coloration is as diverse as it is beautiful and unique.  Our natural color harmony is determined by pigments found in our skin coupled together with our undertones.

Traditional color analysis popular in the early 1980’s focused on four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. People were categorized as either a cool season: Winter or Summer (blue undertones) OR a warm season: Autumn or Spring (yellow undertones). However, after much research, we now know that most people need neither all warm, nor all cool colors to compliment their natural color harmony.  The majority of people need colors somewhere in between.

Understanding the organization of color by nature, the TCI Method of personal color analysis includes 8 neutral seasons (cool/neutral and warm/neutral).  These new tones are found in between  the original 4 seasons.  All together, the TCI 12 Tones (color palettes) encompass the full range of colors found in all human beings.

3 DIMENSIONS OF COLOR

MUNSELL AND THE TCI 12 TONES

These new tones represent 12 distinct areas of color space and are distinguished from one another based on Albert Munsell’s three dimensions of color - hue, value and chroma. Munsell’s color system is a model used for identifying every existing color in the spectrum and still the most commonly used system of color notation  in the world. In addition to artists, professionals from dentists, to archeologists to brewmasters use Munsell’s color system in their work. Using Munsell’s scientific approach in your TCI color analysis ensures you will receive an accurate result with colors that harmonize with your natural tone.

Photographs, monitors, phones and different levels of lighting all change how color appears. An in-person color analysis using TCI calibrated drapes will reveal how your personal undertones react to specific colors and help determine which hue, value, and chroma are best for you. This is the key to reveal which of the 12 Tones is your palette!

HUE (Temperature):

Do you need warm (yellow undertones), cool (blue undertones), warm neutral (yellow with blue undertones) or cool-neutral (blue with yellow undertones) colors?

VALUE:

Are light, dark or colors in between best for you?

Chroma (SATURATION):

Are colors with brightness and saturation better or do you need colors that are more soft and muted?
